Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking an Associate Finance Business Partner to join the Faculty of Arts and Education. You will partner with academic schools and operational teams to provide high-quality reporting, analysis and advice that drives performance and supports strategic goals.

This permanent, full-time role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning and improving financial understanding across the Faculty.

Qualifications

Experience in Management Accounting or senior stakeholder engagement with continuous improvement projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting best practices.
Experience using Power BI or similar performance reporting tools.
Solutions-focused with initiative and collaborative approach.
Strong analysis and financial modelling to support senior management.
Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems (PeopleSoft/Workday).
CA/CPA qualification preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes.
Deliver accurate financial insights, reports and analysis to support strategic goals and KPIs.
Build strong relationships and understanding of key business drivers.
Collaborate on operational and strategic initiatives across faculties.
Improve financial literacy and enable informed decision making.
Ensure compliance with University finance policies and contribute to continuous improvement.
