Auckland Transport is seeking a Business Planning Lead to drive enterprise-wide planning and translate strategy into funded, executable commitments. You will align SOI with the Business Plan, allocate accountability, and support delivery Assurance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum: tertiary qualification in business, public policy, planning, finance, or a related field.
• 7-10+ years significant experience in enterprise or business planning, strategy execution, and/or performance management in a large, complex organisation.
• Experience working in public sector, CCO, infrastructure, or transport-related environments.
• Proven experience translating SOI-level commitments into funded, executable business plans.

Responsabilités

• Allocate initiatives and performance measures to relevant functions and leaders across the organisation.
• Support leaders to understand obligations, interdependencies, and delivery expectations.
• Identify and elevate risks, gaps, or misalignment in ownership, resourcing, or capability.
• Partner with Finance, Commercial, Strategy, and Performance teams to ensure plans are affordable, measurable, and executable.
• Embed performance measures into the organisational performance management framework and reporting cadence.
• Ensure alignment between annual, multi-year, and rolling planning horizons.
• Support development of performance insights and reporting for senior decision-makers.
• Provide analysis and advice on delivery risks, trade-offs, and performance issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in business planning disciplines, frameworks, and tools.
• Contribute to Board, Executive, and shareholder reporting as required.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on planning, prioritisation, and delivery management.
• Facilitate business planning workshops, reviews, and alignment forums.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships across operational and enabling parts of the organisation.
