Job summary

Maritime NZ is seeking a Chief Advisor Health and Safety to lead the development and continuous improvement of our internal health and safety strategy, frameworks and programmes. You will advise the Chief Executive, Board and executive teams and engage with the Board, as a senior member of the Performance, Planning and Risk team.

You will bring a postgraduate level understanding in health and safety, risk management or related discipline, extensive strategic leadership experience and a proven

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in health and safety, risk management, occupational health or related discipline.
• Significant experience providing strategic health and safety leadership at senior advisory, management or leadership level.
• Proven success developing, embedding and evaluating health and safety strategies, frameworks and programmes.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and governance requirements.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Experience leading capability development and fostering a positive safety culture.
• Ability to work in a culturally safe and respectful way with Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities
