Job summary

Hamilton City Council is seeking a strategic asset planning professional to lead long-term investment planning across sport, recreation and community facilities. You will develop the strategies, plans and investment advice that ensure infrastructure remains fit for purpose, affordable and sustainable for future generations.

This role focuses on lifecycle planning, renewal programmes and capital investment, guiding decisions that align with community needs and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in asset management, planning, engineering, infrastructure management, recreation management, business or related discipline.
• Experience in strategic asset management, infrastructure planning or capital investment planning.
• Experience developing Asset Management Plans, lifecycle strategies and renewal programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset management, lifecycle planning and investment prioritisation across sport, recreation and community facilities.
• Develop long-term asset strategies, renewal programmes and investment plans.
• Analyse demand, growth, utilisation, condition, risk and performance data to support decision-making.
• Prepare business cases, feasibility assessments and investment recommendations.
• Support key planning processes including the Long-Term Plan, Infrastructure Strategy and Activity Management Plans.
• Provide governance-ready advice to support capital investment decisions.
• Coordinate with multiple Council teams to align community outcomes and asset investment priorities.
