Job description

Storeperson / Warehouse & Workshop Support

Are you organised, practical and someone who notices what needs doing?

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Storeperson to join our Greymouth team. Working alongside and reporting to our Warehouse Supervisor, you will play an important role in keeping our warehouse operating efficiently and ensuring our workshop, branches and customers have the correct parts and equipment when they need them.

This is not simply a picking-and-packing position. It is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, solving practical problems and contributing to the wider team. You will also have the opportunity to support customers and colleagues by providing helpful, responsive service.

For the right person, there is genuine room to grow. As your product knowledge, skills and confidence develop, you will have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility. Initiative, reliability and a willingness to step up will be recognised and rewarded.

The role
  • Receiving, checking and putting away incoming goods
  • Picking, packing and dispatching workshop parts and customer orders
  • Maintaining accurate, clearly labelled and well-organised stock
  • Assisting with freight, branch transfers, stocktakes and cycle counts
  • Preparing equipment, parts and materials for workshop jobs and deliveries
  • Supporting the workshop with basic assembly, cleaning and painting when required
  • Keeping the warehouse, yard and shared work areas clean, orderly and safe
  • Providing helpful and professional service to customers, suppliers and team members
  • Identifying tasks that need attention and taking responsibility for completing them
  • Taking on additional duties and responsibility as your experience develops
About you

We are looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work and can remain productive without continual direction or follow-up.

You will also bring
  • Good organisation and attention to detail
  • A practical, hands-on approach
  • Initiative and a willingness to take ownership
  • A positive attitude and genuine interest in learning
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and confidence learning new systems
  • The physical capability to carry out regular manual work safely
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • A willingness to contribute wherever needed

Previous experience in stores, warehousing, automotive, agricultural, engineering or industrial parts would be an advantage.

A forklift licence, inventory-system experience or mechanical aptitude would also be useful, but these are not essential. Training will be provided for someone with the right attitude, reliability and work ethic.

What we offer
  • A stable, full-time position with a growing New Zealand-owned company
  • A varied role where your contribution will be noticed and appreciated
  • Training in our products, equipment and operating systems
  • A supportive, practical and down-to-earth team environment
  • Opportunities to broaden your skills and take on increasing responsibility and the potential for domestic travel to our branches or customer sites.
  • Recognition and reward for initiative, ownership and growing capability
  • Genuine potential to develop your role as the business grows
  • Remuneration reflecting the experience, capability and contribution you bring
