Job summary

The Warehouse Group is seeking a Store Project Lead in Auckland, New Zealand. You will drive end-to-end delivery of store developments, relocations and refurbishments, coordinating plans, budgets and partners to ensure on-time, on-budget openings with top safety standards.

You’ll work across Property, Design, Merchandise, Operations and Finance, traveling NZ-wide as needed to lead projects from planning through handover and store opening, ensuring readiness for successful launches.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering construction, capital works, fit-out or development projects from start to finish.
• Strong project planning, scheduling and programme management capabilities.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting and cost control.
• Track record of managing contractors, consultants and external partners.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
• A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Property or related discipline.

Job description

As the Store Project Lead, you'll be the driving force behind the successful delivery of store development projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards. You'll lead every stage of the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through to construction, handover and store opening.

Regular NZ based travel will be required for this role including some overnight stays.

Working closely with teams across Property, Design, Merchandise, Operations, Finance and external partners, you'll balance commercial outcomes with exceptional project execution to deliver stores that are ready to succeed from day one.

• A track record of successfully managing contractors, consultants and external partners.

• A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Property or a related discipline.

Experience in retail, multi-site environments, store development or refurbishment projects will be highly regarded. Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are also advantageous.
