Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Auckland, NZ seeks an experienced Store Manager to lead a large-scale home-improvement retail operation. You will drive performance, oversee customer experience, and develop a diverse team in a permanent, full-time role.

The successful candidate will balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, manage commercial results, budgets, and safety while delivering continuous improvement and strong partner relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven senior retail management experience in a large-form or high-volume retail environment.
• Strong commercial understanding with track record of hitting financial and operational targets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop large diverse teams.
• Experience in merchandising, inventory, forecasting, and retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large multi-department retail leadership team.
• Drive commercial performance, profitability, and growth strategies.
• Manage daily store operations across customer service, merchandising, inventory, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain a strong culture of safety, excellence, and team engagement.
• Monitor financial performance, budgets, forecasting, and cost control.
• Improve operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure stock management, inventory control, and merchandising standards.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and community partners.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and business improvement.
• Support team capability development through coaching and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company policies.
