Traffic Safe NZ Ltd in New Plymouth is seeking an STMS Practicing lead to oversee traffic management sites and real-time road safety decisions. You will set up and manage TTM sites, direct on-site crews, and ensure compliance with safety plans.

Ideal candidates hold STMS A/B Practicing, a minimum TTM unit standard 31962, and a NZ Class 1 licence (Class 2 is a bonus). Training and development are provided within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• A current STMS A/B practicing qualification is required.
• Minimum TTM Qualification Unit Standard 31962.
• A full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence is essential (Class 2 is a bonus).
• Ability to lead crews and make risk-based decisions on site.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and outdoor work readiness.

Responsabilités

• Set up and maintain compliant TTM sites according to the approved plan.
• Manage live traffic flow, including stop/go and layout adjustments.
• Lead on-site crews, conduct toolbox talks, and allocate daily tasks.
• Conduct site inductions, safety checks, and maintain accurate records.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Set up and maintain compliant TTM sites according to the approved plan.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current STMS A/B practicing qualification. If you don't have Practicing - That's okay, we can train and certify you ! We have a dedicated training and assessing team here at Traffic Safe to support you in your career within Traffic Management!

• Must have : Previous Traffic Management Experience -Minimum TTM Qualification Unit Standard 31962
• A full Class 1 NZ driver's licenceis essential (Class 2 is a bonus).
• Confidence to lead crews and make smart, risk-based decisions on site.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Be physically fit and ready to work outdoors in all conditions.
