Job summary

Napier City Council seeks an experienced STMS Multiskilled to join the Water Services Network Operations team. This hands-on role combines traffic management with three waters maintenance, construction and inspection across Napier’s water network.

You’ll support safe delivery of work, respond to faults and service requests, and assist with hydro excavation when required. Based at Onekawa depot, 42.5 hours/week, Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• A Level 1 STMS qualification.
• Full, clean Class 1 driver licence.
• Understanding of three waters reticulation systems.
• Confidence using small plants, hand tools and power tools.
• Strong WHS awareness and safe work practices.
• Fit for manual and confined-space work.
• Cooperative, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Customer-focused when dealing with colleagues, contractors and the public.
• TTM Planner Category A and B qualification would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor Traffic Management Plans per requirements.
• Complete STMS inspections and audits for safety.
• Provide practical traffic management advice to the team.
• Undertake three waters inspections, repairs and installations.
• Respond to leaks, blockages, and service requests.
• Identify asset defects and maintenance needs.
• Maintain traffic management equipment and vehicles.
• Assist hydro excavation operations and provide relief cover.
