Job summary

HEB Construction invites an experienced STMS to join our Marlborough team, overseeing temporary traffic management on local roads and State Highways. You’ll set up, operate and remove TM sites, complete required documentation and coordinate deliveries and site access to keep workers and road users safe.

Qualifications

• Relevant traffic qualification and practical NZGTTM experience.
• Full Class 1 NZ driver licence required; Class 2 an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and remove temporary traffic management sites.

Job description

HEB Construction is a leading New Zealand civil construction company, delivering and maintaining critical infrastructure across the country.

Wairau Gateway is a joint venture between HEB Construction and Fulton Hogan, responsible for delivering the Integrated Delivery Contract maintaining Marlborough’s roading network.

We’re looking for an experienced STMS to join our Marlborough team, helping set up, manage and remove temporary traffic management sites using the NZGTTM risk-based approach.

About the role

You’ll be involved in:

• Setting up, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management sites
• Completing all required traffic management documentation
• Managing traffic, deliveries and site access while keeping workers, road users and pedestrians safe
• Working across local roads and State Highways in both rural and urban environments
• Working day and night shifts as required
• Supporting and coaching site crews to maintain a high standard of traffic management
• Applying a risk-based approach to day-to-day traffic management
• Ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards

What you’ll bring

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

Relevant Traffic qualification and/or training and practical experience applying the NZGTTM risk-based approach

Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence

• Relevant experience working on civil construction and roading sites in New Zealand
• Experience working across local roads and State Highways, including rural and urban and high and low-speed environments
• A good understanding of temporary traffic management requirements and risk-based traffic management
• The ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and the ability to coach and support others on site
• Reliable transport and the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role

A full Class 2 Driver Licence would be an advantage.
