Job summary
Halter is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead a significant area of the product experience. You will shape design foundations across mobile and web and work with engineers to craft scalable systems.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Halter offers relocation and visa assistance. You’ll mentor designers, raise craft, and help define Halter’s product experience while solving hard, impactful problems for farmers and graziers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years designing digital products and design systems at scale.
- Exceptional visual craft across typography, layout, color and motion.
- Experience shipping a design system with engineers and token libraries.
- Portfolio showing foundational systems work and high-craft experiences.
- Ability to coach other designers and raise team quality.
Responsibilities
- Set, own and advance design foundations across mobile and web.
- Raise quality through principles, guidance and worked examples.
- Shape architecture and system structure with engineers.
- Treat the system as a product with real customers and direction.
- Provide clear patterns and decisions, with justifications.
- Turn field conditions into reusable, legible standards.
- Promote patterns to teams and document them for reuse.
- Mentor designers and champion the system across leadership.
