Job summary

Argus Fire Protection in Wellington seeks an experienced Sprinkler Minor Works Manager to lead technicians and supervisors, manage minor works projects from planning through to completion, and drive project performance and customer relations.

You will ensure financial targets are met, forecast variations, and uphold health and safety standards across NZS 4541 compliance. A strong commercial mindset and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in the fire sprinkler protection industry.
• Strong knowledge of NZS 4541 and sprinkler systems.
• Proven leadership and people management capability.
• Experience managing small to medium projects and field teams.

Argus Fire Protection is one of New Zealand's leading providers of fire protection solutions, with over 40 years of experience designing, installing, maintaining and servicing fire protection systems nationwide.

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Sprinkler Minor Works Manager to join our Wellington team.

About The Role

Reporting to the Wellington Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and supporting sprinkler technicians and supervisors
• Delivering minor works projects from planning through to completion
• Managing project performance, labour utilisation and productivity
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Ensuring projects meet financial targets and budget expectations
• Managing variations, forecasting and project reporting
• Promoting and maintaining a strong Health & Safety culture
• Ensuring compliance with NZS 4541, relevant legislation and company quality systems
• Identifying opportunities for business growth and additional works

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Extensive experience within the fire sprinkler protection industry
• Strong technical knowledge of NZS 4541 and sprinkler systems
• Experience managing small to medium projects and field teams
• Proven leadership and people management capability
• Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities
• High level of computer literacy
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities

Desirable But Not Essential

• Project Management qualification
• Estimating experience
• Previous management or supervisory experience within the fire protection industry
