Job summary

Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery in Ōtautahi Christchurch is seeking a fully registered teacher to step into the SENCO role. The successful candidate will lead inclusion-focused practices, navigate Ministry resources, and support students with Special Assessment Conditions.

You will be the line manager for teaching assistants and collaborate to embed culturally sustaining approaches, aligned with our values of whanaungatanga and aroha.

Qualifications

Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery is a designated character state school based in Ōtautahi Christchurch’s central business district. Sadly, our SENCO is retiring and we are looking for an exceptional SENCO to replace her. The successful candidate will be a fully registered teacher who is flexible and innovative in their practice. They will have a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and how to embed culturally sustaining practice to support success for all our students. They will also have a strong understanding of how to support inclusive education practices, navigate the external resources available through the Ministry of Education and other support networks. The successful candidate will be the line manager for teaching assistants, so experience leading staff, supporting Special Assessment Conditions and managing resources would be helpful.
