Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Development Engineer II to contribute to the Neutron launch vehicle, focusing on vehicle structures and supporting analyses, designs, and drawings. You will collaborate with analysts and manufacturing to drive concept design, detailed layouts, and producible assemblies.

The role requires creating robust CAD models, solving technical challenges, and mentoring with senior engineers in a fast-paced space environment. NZ and US offices support diverse missions.

Qualifications

  • Aerospace, mechanical or mechatronic engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience and skills aligned with engineering roles and titles.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and rapidly iterate CAD designs for metallic and composite structures.
  • Own design aspects of composite inserts, laminates, and metallic interfaces with analysts.
  • Create drawing packages and technical reports; ensure design for manufacture is maintained.
  • Produce test jigs/fixtures for fabrication, assembly and development testing.
  • Identify and solve technical challenges to keep projects moving.
  • Engage with experienced engineers for mentorship and growth.
