Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Auckland, NZ, seeks a Senior Structural Analyst for the Neutron program. You will own structural designs from concept through completion, interfacing with design, manufacturing, and test teams to validate primary and secondary structures of the Neutron launch vehicle.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5+ years of structural analysis experience, with expertise in composites and FEA software.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of structural analysis experience in high-performance applications.
  • Strong understanding of composites engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with industry standard structural FEA packages.
  • Experience in structural testing of composite components or assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis of primary and secondary structures, including composites and metallic components.
  • Build, run, and post-process FE models to assess design margins under static, dynamic, and thermal loads.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams on material selection and build processes.
  • Work with test engineers to define tests and compare data to analytical predictions.
  • Develop and document structural analysis methods.
  • Identify and solve technical challenges to keep projects moving.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
