About the Role

Our client, a leading firm in the financial services sector based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA , is actively seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect with a Security Focus . This critical role involves designing and implementing secure technology solutions that protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with security teams, development teams, and business stakeholders to embed security principles into the architecture of all systems and applications. This position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies, combined with strong architectural design skills. As a key member of the technology team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the organization's digital assets and maintaining customer trust. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect secure and robust technology solutions across various platforms.
• Develop and implement security architecture standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct security risk assessments and threat modeling for new and existing systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and tools to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and data privacy laws.
• Provide technical guidance on security architecture to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Design secure network architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Oversee the implementation of security controls and monitor their effectiveness.
• Respond to and manage security incidents from an architectural perspective.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a significant focus on cybersecurity.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing secure enterprise-level solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and best practices.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure network design.
• Familiarity with application security, data encryption, and identity and access management (IAM).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex security requirements into practical architectural designs.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is a plus.
