Job summary

Tuatahi First Fibre is seeking a Solution Architect to shape solutions from discovery through implementation, ensuring alignment with our architecture direction. You’ll work across applications, integrations, data, security and infrastructure, balancing architectural practice with business value and delivery realities.

You’ll collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts and delivery teams, guiding decisions, evaluating trade-offs and maintaining architectural intent throughout delivery.

Are you a Solution Architect who enjoys turning complex business needs into practical, well-designed technology solutions?

We’re looking for a Solution Architect to join our Digital Enablement team, reporting to the Head of Digital Strategy & Architecture. You’ll work across business and delivery teams, shaping solutions from early discovery through to implementation and ensuring they remain aligned with Tuatahi’s architecture direction.

This is a broad architecture role where you’ll work across applications, integrations, data, security and infrastructure, balancing good architectural practice with business value and delivery realities.

The outcomes your expertise will lead to:

Shape end-to-end solutions: Work from discovery through delivery to develop pragmatic, robust and supportable solutions that address business needs.

Guide architectural decisions: Evaluate options, challenge assumptions and clearly articulate trade-offs, risks and dependencies to support good decision-making.

Connect architecture and delivery: Work alongside Product Owners, Business Analysts, Technical Leads and delivery teams to maintain architectural intent throughout implementation.

Strengthen integration and data architecture: Apply sound thinking across APIs, event-driven architecture, data flows, system boundaries and non-functional requirements.

Provide architecture assurance: Review internal and vendor-developed solutions, identify material risks or gaps and ensure significant decisions and exceptions are appropriately governed.

What you’ll bring to the table:

Experience as a Solution Architect or comparable technical architect, designing end-to-end solutions from discovery through delivery.

Strong practical experience across integration, APIs, event-driven architecture, data architecture and data flows.

The ability to evaluate solution options, dependencies and risks while balancing architectural quality, business value and delivery constraints.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to make complex technical concepts, decisions and trade-offs clear to both technical and non-technical audiences.

A collaborative and curious approach, with the confidence to challenge thinking constructively and work effectively through ambiguity.

Experience in telecommunications, fibre or networks is valuable, but it isn’t essential. We’re equally interested in your architectural judgement, curiosity and ability to quickly understand unfamiliar domains.
