Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business analysis, economics, engineering, energy systems, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
• At least 5 years’ relevant professional experience in industry research, market analysis, business analysis or commercial strategy work.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Proficient in Excel or similar tools for cost, margin and scenario modelling.
• Ability to work independently and manage research projects.

Responsibilities

• Research NZ and overseas markets for solar generation, battery storage, portable power and EVs.
• Track competitors, suppliers and distribution channels across sectors.
• Build an evidence base from industry data and company records for analysis.
• Evaluate new business models and revenue options with commercial logic.
• Prepare feasibility studies including volume, pricing, margins and payback.
• Assess supply-side options, certifications, lead times and warranties.
• Gather market intelligence from customers, installers and trade events.
• Analyze sales-to-delivery workflow and internal reporting for improvements.
• Propose changes to procedures and workflows; support rollout with guidance.
• Report to management with industry briefings and monitor performance.
