Job summary

Sunnytech Solar is seeking a Business Analyst in Auckland to act as the company’s in-house researcher and commercial analyst. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business analysis, economics, engineering, energy systems, or related field.
• At least five years’ relevant experience in industry research, market analysis, business analysis or commercial strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent market and industry research with defensible conclusions.
• Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills using Excel or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Research NZ and overseas markets for solar generation, lithium and LiFePO4 storage, EV chargers and related infrastructure.
• Track competitors, suppliers and distribution channels; benchmark Sunnytech Solar.
• Build and maintain an evidence base from industry data, statistics, and internal records.
• Evaluate new business models and revenue streams; prepare commercial logic and risk profiles.
• Prepare feasibility studies and business cases including volumes, pricing and payback.
• Assess supply side: manufacturers, landed cost, lead times, compliance and warranty.
• Gather market intelligence from customers, installers, and trade events.
• Analyze current sales-to-delivery workflow and internal reporting; suggest changes.
• Work with leadership to set goals and priorities for expansion.
• Draft proposals; support rollout with updated procedures and manuals.
• Report to management on a regular cycle and monitor performance against forecast.
