Job summary

Navicom Dynamics in Auckland designs navigation and control systems for marine use. We are seeking a Software & Firmware Developer to work across embedded firmware, cloud software, and mobile applications, applying AI techniques.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software, firmware and hardware into complete products, and contribute to testing and product development across the full stack for international customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for hardware products, including embedded systems and communication interfaces.

• Develop and support software systems used by Navicom and its customers.
• Develop new software applications and tools to support Navicom's products and operations.
• Apply AI technologies and design AI Agents.
• Develop automated testing and apply test-driven development (TDD).
• Develop and support applications for iPad, iPhone and Android platforms.
• Coordinate with hardware engineers to integrate software, firmware and hardware.

We are looking for a talentedSoftware & Firmware Developerto join our team and help develop the next generation of Navicom products and software systems.

This is a genuinely varied role spanningembedded firmware, cloud-based software, mobile applications and artificial intelligence. You will have the opportunity to work across the full technology stack and play an important role in developing new products as well as supporting and improving existing systems.

The Role

• Developingfirmware for hardware products, including embedded systems and communication interfaces.
• Developing and maintainingcloud-based software and services.
• Developing and supporting software systems used byNavicom and its customers.
• Developing new software applications and tools to support Navicom's products and operations.
• Applyingadvanced software development techniques, particularly emerging AI technologies.
• Designing and developingAI Agents.
• Developing automated testing and applyingtest-driven development (TDD)principles.
• Developing and supporting applications foriPad, iPhone and/or Androidplatforms.
• Working closely with hardware engineers and other team members to integrate software, firmware and hardware into complete products.
• Troubleshooting, improving and maintaining existing software and firmware systems.
