Job summary

Navicom Dynamics in Auckland designs navigation and control systems for marine use. We are seeking a Software & Firmware Developer to work across embedded firmware, cloud software, and mobile applications, applying AI techniques.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software, firmware and hardware into complete products, and contribute to testing and product development across the full stack for international customers.

Qualifications

• Firmware development and embedded programming.
• Cloud-based software development.
• AI Agents and agentic workflows.
• iOS/iPadOS and/or Android application development.
• APIs, databases, networking and software integration.
• Test-driven development and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for hardware products, including embedded systems and communication interfaces.
• Develop cloud-based software and services.
• Develop and support software systems used by Navicom and its customers.
• Develop new software applications and tools to support Navicom's products and operations.
• Apply AI technologies and design AI Agents.
• Develop automated testing and apply test-driven development (TDD).
• Develop and support applications for iPad, iPhone and Android platforms.
• Coordinate with hardware engineers to integrate software, firmware and hardware.
