Job summary

Caterpillar CTCT division is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead a software team developing embedded Linux in C++ and web apps in Angular/TypeScript for earthmoving and paving machines. The role involves guiding a distributed team across CTCT sites and driving process improvements while staying hands-on technically.

You will join Trimble's NZ Christchurch-based HQ, working onsite five days a week in a dynamic environment that integrates GPS, lasers, and nanotechnologies for field

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineers and alpha testers.
• Ability to work proactively with limited direction and manage projects across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Leading, inspiring, and supporting an existing team of software engineers and alpha testers, including goal setting, performance management, and career planning
• Providing technical guidance to team members and helping to remove roadblocks
• Development and evolution of solutions on embedded Linux using C++ and web applications using Angular and TypeScript
• Prioritizing work by allocating and monitoring tasks with appropriate detail
• Collaborating across geographically dispersed CTCT sites to drive continuous improvements in software development processes.
