Job summary

Trimble's Field Systems Cloud team in Christchurch, NZ is offering a summer internship with hands-on cloud infrastructure work and modern tooling like Terraform. You will contribute to scalable systems and web solutions that transform how the world works, while collaborating with engineers across global sites in a hybrid, in-office setup.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • High curiosity, drive for innovation, and a strong desire to learn new technologies.
  • Exposure to programming languages, software design patterns, and modern development techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve problems independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop automation tools and frameworks to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary, distributed team of technical experts across global sites.
  • Eliminate manual, repetitive tasks to ensure cloud systems remain supportable, scalable, and resilient.
  • Apply fundamental software engineering principles in an Agile environment to build sustainable end‑to‑end solutions.
