Job summary

Beca Christchurch is seeking an intermediate ICT and Security engineer to join our Christchurch team. You will work on complex building technology projects, solving real-world problems and building depth across ICT and electronic security in a consulting environment.

From early design through delivery, you will help design and deliver systems such as structured cabling, fibre networks, access control, CCTV and intrusion detection, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and providing on-site

Qualifications

• Around 4–7 years’ experience in ICT, building technologies, or electronic security, ideally in a consulting environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience contributing to design and delivery of systems such as CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and fibre networks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within project teams.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and willingness to continue learning.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and delivery of ICT and electronic security systems including structured cabling, fibre optic networks, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
• Support the preparation of design documentation including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Be involved in project delivery through coordination, site visits, and technical support during construction.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate building technologies into wider project outcomes.
• Build effective working relationships with clients and project stakeholders, and contribute to a positive project experience.
• Support the ongoing improvement of tools, standards, and delivery approaches.
