Job summary

Beca’s Christchurch team is seeking an intermediate ICT & Security engineer to help design and deliver building technologies across diverse projects. You will work with experienced engineers to grow your depth in ICT, electronic security, and integrated systems, while solving real-world problems in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of ICT, building technologies, or electronic security experience.
• Experience designing and delivering systems such as cabling, fibre networks, access control, CCTV.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver ICT and electronic security systems including structured cabling, fibre networks, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
• Prepare design documentation including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinate project delivery through site visits and construction support.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate building technologies into wider project outcomes.
• Build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure a positive project experience.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of tools, standards and delivery approaches.

We are growing our Building Technologies capability and are looking for an intermediate ICT and Security engineer to join our Christchurch team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and wants to build depth across ICT and electronic security in a consulting environment. You will be involved in a diverse mix of projects and work alongside experienced engineers who will support your development.

You will play a key role in delivering building technology solutions that support how people use, experience, and interact with spaces. From early design through to delivery, your work will contribute to creating secure, connected, and future-ready buildings. • Contribute to the design and delivery of ICT and electronic security systems including structured cabling, fibre optic networks, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
• Support the preparation of design documentation including drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Be involved in project delivery through coordination, site visits, and technical support during construction
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate building technologies into wider project outcomes
• Build effective working relationships with clients and project stakeholders, and contribute to a positive project experience

You Are An Intermediate Engineer With Experience In ICT And Or Electronic Security For Building Projects, And You Are Ready To Take The Next Step In Your Career. You Will Bring

• Around 4-7 years’ of experience in ICT, building technologies, or electronic security, ideally within a consulting environment
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience contributing to the design and delivery of systems such as structured cabling, fibre networks, access control, CCTV, or associated infrastructure
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within project teams
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in continuing to learn
• You take ownership of your work, enjoy collaborating with others, and are motivated to build your technical capability in a supportive team environment.
