Job summary

Delta Utility Services in Queenstown seeks an experienced tracks maintenance worker to join our Greenspace team. This physically demanding labourer role covers ride-on mowing, basic mechanical maintenance of plant, weed-eating, pilot vehicle operation and other general maintenance duties.

Ideal candidates will have a landscaping qualification or proven landscaping experience, a current Growsafe certificate, chainsaw experience and good mechanical knowledge of small plant.

Qualifications

• Landscaping qualification or proven landscaping experience.
• Current Growsafe certificate.
• Experience operating chainsaws.
• Good mechanical knowledge of small plant such as blowers, weed-eaters and chainsaws.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to plan labour and materials.
• Ability to work in challenging weather conditions and prepare tracks for weather events.

Responsibilities

• Ride-on mowing and general maintenance tasks.
• Basic mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Weed-eating and other grounds maintenance duties.
• Pilot vehicle operating and safe driving when required.
• A agrichemical spraying as part of maintenance activities.
• Other general maintenance tasks as assigned.

The role: We are looking for a skilled Labourer to join our Queenstown team. This is a physically demanding role due to the varied areas and terrain we maintain.

You will need a versatile skill set. Responsibilities include ride-on mowing, basic mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment, weed-eating, pilot vehicle operating, agrichemical spraying, and other general maintenance tasks.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A landscaping qualification or proven landscaping experience
• A current Growsafe certificate
• Experience operating chainsaws
• Good mechanical knowledge, particularly of small plant such as blowers, weed‑eaters and chainsaws
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to plan the labour and materials required for upcoming tasks
• The ability to work in challenging weather conditions, particularly when preparing tracks for weather events
