Job summary

Jora New Zealand is hiring four carpenters in Auckland to join our supportive team. This full-time, permanent role offers a structured workweek (Mon–Fri) and a wage of NZ$27–NZ$35 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, cut and fit timber, erect frames, and carry out renovations while maintaining safety standards. We value teamwork, physical fitness, attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant construction experience.
• Be a great team player and able to follow instructions.
• Physically fit and willing to work hard.
• Good eye for detail and ability to solve problems practically.
• Have a can-do attitude and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints, sketches or building plans.
• Prepare project work procedures and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Plan order and selection of timbers and materials and prepare layouts.
• Shape and cut materials using hand or power tools to required sizes.
• Assemble and nail parts to form frames or structures for buildings or fittings.
• Erect roof and window framing, build internal walls and partitions; layout sub-flooring.
• Build and install stairways, doors, fascia panels; fitments and fixtures.
• Remove and repair existing fittings; conduct renovations and maintenance on wood structures.
