Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking skilled and experienced Carpenters to join our team. The role requires providing trade skills, knowledge, and experience to successfully undertake a wide range of carpentry and construction tasks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of carpentry experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/specifications.
• Strong understanding of materials and construction procedures.
• Commitment to health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Order, select, and prepare timbers and other required materials.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood parts with precision.
• Erect frameworks, roof framing, sub-flooring, and floorboards with true alignment.
• Install cladding, fascia, doors, windows, and other fittings.
• Carry out concrete formwork and prepare wood joints as needed.
• Install and fabricate timber, stone, brick, metal, and Perspex fixtures.
• Install glass and mirrors in windows and partitions.
• Operate power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with onsite tasks such as concrete work, material handling, scaffolding, and trench digging.
