Job summary

Stellar Recruitment Pty anchors a hands-on Site Safety Supervisor role for a major fuel terminal project in Auckland. You will lead day-to-day safety assurance, verify critical controls, and ensure permits and risk controls are followed across multiple fronts.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate with contractors, conduct inspections, participate in work planning and investigations, and drive safe outcomes on site through to March 2027.

Qualifications

• NZ Level 4 Health & Safety qualification (or equivalent)
• 5+ years' site-based HSE experience
• Experience in high-risk industrial, construction, shutdown or maintenance environments
• Knowledge of permits, confined spaces, isolations, lifting, work at height and hot work
• First Aid certification
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across multiple contractors/workgroups
• Promoting safe work practices on site

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify critical safety controls on active fronts.
• Monitor permits, isolations, confined spaces, lifting and high-risk work compliance.
• Oversee lifting operations, scaffolding, work at height and hot work.
• Participate in pre-starts and work planning; provide practical safety guidance.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and manage corrective actions and reporting.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe delivery and emergency readiness
