Job summary

YC Homes, an Albany-based residential main contractor, seeks a Site Manager to join our team. You will work closely with the Managing Director, Quantity Surveyor, and Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years as a qualified Carpenter in NZ residential construction, with leadership, strong communication, and the ability to read drawings. A full NZ driver’s licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified Carpenter in New Zealand residential construction.
• Previous experience as a Site Manager, Foreman, or Leading Hand is highly desirable.
• Experience delivering high-end build is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
• Familiarity with health and safety practices and legal guidelines.
• Reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic team player.
• Fluent in English (Chinese language skills are an advantage).
• Full NZ driver’s licence.

• Manage all day-to-day site operations from commencement through to practical completion.
• Interpret and implement construction drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and enforce health and safety regulations on-site.
• Manage and coordinate labor, materials, and equipment on site.
• Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Maintain daily reports, site diaries, and progress updates.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and machinery.
• Resolve any on-site issues promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure site cleanliness and organization at all times.
