Job summary

AWF New Zealand is seeking a site engineer to plan and oversee daily activities, manage work packs, and maintain site records to ensure on-time delivery and cost control. You will work closely with design, safety, procurement and construction teams to support smooth project execution on site.

The role requires a tertiary engineering qualification and a minimum of two years’ civil or infrastructure construction experience.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in civil or infrastructure construction.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and apply them on site.
• Solid understanding of construction methods and site processes.
• Clear communication skills with a collaborative team-focused approach.
• Ability to remain calm, organized and methodical in a fast-paced site environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily site engineering activities to meet programme deadlines and cost targets.
• Prepare and manage construction work packs for allocated scopes of work.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and cost control documentation.
• Collaborate with design, safety, procurement and construction teams to support delivery.
• Assist with construction sequencing, work methodologies and delivery planning.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental controls are implemented on site.

Education

Engineering degree or related qualification

2+ years civil/infrastructure construction experience
