Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries is seeking an onboard cook to support breakfast, lunch and dinner for crew and passengers under the direction of the Chief Cook. This seagoing role involves 12-hour shifts, including day/night, weekends and public holidays, with a 7 days on, followed by 7 days off roster.

Key duties include preparing meals, heating foods for hot hold, kitchen prep, and maintaining galley safety and hygiene under NZFSA Food Control Plan.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Certificate and Food Control Plan knowledge.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Experience in high volume food production or similar environment.
• The ability to communicate with passengers during an emergency, in English.
• At least 18 years old.

Responsabilités

• Assist with cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for crew and passengers.
• Heat and cook foods for hot hold.
• Prepare daily food items and prep lists.
• Maintain galley cleanliness and stock fridges/freezers.
• Assist with set-up of bain-marie area and food service.
• Prepare short order meals and ensure safe operation under Chief Cook.
