We are looking for a shift manager for our store based in Queenstown. As a shift Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the store during assigned shifts and ensuring that daily operations are carried out efficiently and in accordance with company, food safety, health and safety, customer service and operational standards. This is a hands‑on management position involving staff supervision, customer service, food preparation and quality control, stock management, cash handling and general store operations.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate the operations of the store during assigned shifts.
- Lead, motivate and support team members to achieve desired results.
- Allocate tasks and responsibilities to staff during each shift.
- Train, supervise and support employees in store procedures and customerservice.
- Monitor staff performance and provide appropriate guidance and feedback.
- Ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and within required servicestandards.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and deal with customer enquiriesand complaints.
- Monitor food preparation, product quality and presentation.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures arefollowed.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving and storing food andpackaging supplies.
- Monitor wastage and take reasonable steps to minimize product loss.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Manage cash, EFTPOS and till procedures and complete required shiftreconciliation.
- Monitor sales and store performance during assigned shifts.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the store, kitchen, equipment andcustomer areas.
- Identify and report equipment, maintenance and operational issues.
- Assist with staff rostering and shift planning where required.
- Coordinate delivery operations where applicable.
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues and elevate matters to the authorizedperson when necessary.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented.
- Manage the overall operation and performance of the store.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 3 years of relevant supervisory or management experience in fastfood, hospitality, restaurant, retail or a similar environment; or a minimum of level5 or higher diploma/degree qualification inHospitality/management/retail/business or any other field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to train, coach and motivate team members.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
This is a full-time permanent position with a minimum of 30 hours per week and the pay rate for this position will be 31.50 NZD per hour.
