Job summary

Dayforce is a global HCM company delivering cloud payroll and human capital management solutions. The aPay Dayforce Service Consultant participates in all stages of the aPay implementation lifecycle under the direction of the Project Manager and may lead activities to design and deliver payroll solutions for customers.

This role supports remote work across Australia and New Zealand and requires strong requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and client-facing consulting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in a Software Implementation role or 5+ years with payroll/HR systems; Ascender Pay preferred but not required.
  • Experience with software design and implementation, including document writing.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make decisions on the job.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience consulting external clients.
  • Organized and able to schedule and prioritize time, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

  • Document and validate customer requirements and map to aPay Dayforce functionality.
  • Design and document innovative solutions to address customer needs.
  • Configure aPay Dayforce modules to meet requirements.
  • Conduct consulting sessions (phone/in-person) and document minutes.
  • Participate in customer testing cycles and resolve issues.
  • Attend internal project meetings and provide status updates.
  • Provide follow-up consulting and general assistance to customers.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for functional areas for internal/external users.

About the opportunity

The aPay Dayforce Service Consultant participates in all stages of the aPay implementation lifecycle (discovery, configuration, testing, deployment, post-go-live support) under the direction of the Project Manager and may lead one or more of these activities to design and delivery quality payroll solutions to Dayforce customers.

  • Document and validate customer business requirements and map them to aPay Dayforce functionality.
  • Design and document innovative solutions to address customer business needs.
  • Configure aPay Dayforce modules to meet customers documented business requirements.
  • Conduct consulting sessions (over the phone and in-person) and document them with meeting minutes.
  • Actively participate in customer testing cycles, promptly addressing and resolving any identified issues.
  • Attend internal project meetings and provide status updates on the progress of activities and deliverables.
  • Provide customers with follow-up consulting and general assistance in areas of expertise.
  • Serve as a “go‑to” resource for specific functional areas for both internal and external users.
Skills and experience we value
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in a Software Implementation role or 5+ Experience with payroll or related HR systems an advantage; experience with Ascender Pay preferred but not required.
  • Experience with software design and implementation, including document writing experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills, creative and critical thinking with the ability to make decisions on the job to achieve project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills (high level of written and verbal) with experience consulting to external clients.
  • Organized and able to schedule and prioritize time with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to project deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a project team.
