Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Queenstown, Otago, New Zealand is seeking a qualified Mechanic to join our team full-time (40 hours per week). You will service and repair vehicles to manufacturer specs, perform preventive maintenance, and keep accurate servicing records.

Candidates should have a Motor Mechanic Level 4, a full driver’s license (including manual), and experience in car rental environments. The role offers a Monday-Friday roster with weekend shifts as required, competitive NZ$38–40 per hour,

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics (Level 4 minimum) and hands-on experience.
• Full driver’s licence including manual vehicles.
• Experience in servicing petrol and diesel engines and vehicle maintenance.
• Customer-focused, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Servicing vehicles to manufacturers’ specs and performing preventive maintenance.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified Mechanic to join our team working full-time (40-hours per week) in beautiful Queenstown!Our fleet of vehicles is any Mechanic’s dream and our vast range needs your skills, experience, and expertise. As a Mechanic at Avis Budget Group you will be handling the repairs and maintenance on our vehicles in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.Your work will reflect our company values and you will ensure company standards are within all appropriate laws and regulations and we are compliant. You will also make sure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.What you’ll doServicing vehicles in line with manufacturers’ specifications and company standards, including carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles (e.g. replacing fluids, changing oil/air filter, tyres, brakes, fitting ski racks etc.) including cars, trucks and company fleet.Monitor inventory and request the order of new parts from Service Administrator Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.Perform diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.Provide assistance to Trade Assistant when required.Complete Repair OrdersProviding breakdown assistance when necessaryPreparing vehicles for hand back and sales.Testing and general servicing of workshop equipment for safety.Keeping accurate and on-time job records and recording servicing history in applicable systemsConducting work in a safe manner, complying with Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental policies, procedures and being familiar with emergency evacuation procedures to eliminate or minimise workplace health and safety risks.
