Job summary

CCS Disability Action seeks a Service Coordinator to support disabled people and their families in Rotorua and the wider Bay of Plenty region. The role covers Rotorua or Tauranga bases, with Tauranga applicants welcome.

You will coordinate flexible, high-quality services, provide advocacy and information sharing, and develop strong community connections. Managing Support Workers and delivering contracted services while upholding rights-based practice is central.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate high-quality services that are creative, flexible and responsive to needs of disabled people and their families.
  • Provide services, advocacy and information sharing.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and community connections and networks.
  • Partner with disabled people and whānau to support choice and control.
  • Coordinate and manage Support Workers and carers for quality support in community and homes.
  • Coordinate delivery of contracted services meeting funders’ specifications.
  • Ensure work with disabled people and whānau is high quality and rights-based.

Job specific information

We are seeking a person who is committed to making a difference in the lives of disabled children and adults, and their families/whānau in Rotorua. This role covers the Rotorua region in Bay of Plenty, but applicants can be based in Rotorua or Tauranga. Applicants from Tauranga are very welcome to apply.

  • Coordinating high-quality services that are creative, flexible, and responsive to the needs of disabled children, adults and their families/whānau.
  • Provision of services, advocacy and information sharing.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships and community connections and networks.
  • Partnering with disabled people, their families and whānau to support them to have choice and control in their lives.
  • Coordinating and managing Support Workers and carers to provide quality support and services in the community and in people’s homes.
  • Coordinate delivery of contracted services which meet the funders’ specifications.
  • Ensure that our work undertaken with disabled people, their family/whānau, and our related community partners, is of high quality and is rights based.
About you

  • Understand, and are committed to progressing the rights of disabled people.
  • Have experience working with individuals, families/whānau to access supports and services.
  • Have an ability to form positive relationships and networks.
  • Have great oral and written communication skills.
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of the disability sector and can relate to disabled people in a positive affirming manner.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Have excellent skills in developing and maintaining trusting and accountable relationships with staff.
  • Previous experience and/or tertiary training.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to be creative and innovative in delivering services.
