Job summary

Tiaki Wai is seeking a Senior Engineer Network Operations to monitor three waters networks and ensure safe, reliable service. You will use SCADA, telemetry and data to establish baselines, advise on performance, and contribute to future upgrades.

The role is office-based in Petone and full‑time, with strong emphasis on incident response and technical leadership. You will monitor, analyse and improve system performance, develop dashboards and KPIs, and provide expert guidance for resilient

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary engineering qualification and a full NZ Class 1 Drivers Licence.
• Experience monitoring and analysing water, wastewater or stormwater networks or similar critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, SCADA/telemetry and control systems.
• Experience developing procedures and KPIs to improve performance and consistency.
• Analytical mindset with solid communication skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time three waters network performance using SCADA, telemetry and operational data.
• Analyse trends, incidents and system data to identify risks, root causes and improvements.
• Develop performance monitoring tools, dashboards, reporting frameworks and operational KPIs.
• Advise on network performance, control and monitoring systems including future upgrades.
• Lead technical decision-making during significant incidents and support rapid service recovery.
