Job summary

GHD is seeking a Water Engineer to join our national water team in Hamilton or New Plymouth. You will apply our global network of skills to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities, with a hybrid work model.

You'll work on investigation, design and delivery of stormwater, water supply, wastewater and multidisciplinary projects, building relationships with clients and guiding graduates, while collaborating with virtual teams across GHD offices.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree in Civil engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of industry design standards and guidelines.
• Experience with public and private sector projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
• Experience with design software: 12D, Civil3D, ACAD, GIS.

Responsibilities

• Investigation, design and implementation of stormwater, water supply, wastewater, transport and multidisciplinary projects.
• Develop relationships with clients to ensure project outcomes and satisfaction.
• Prepare high‑quality reports and deliverables.
• Perform office and site work with virtual teams across offices.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to graduate design engineers.
