Job summary

GHD is seeking a Hydrology, Stormwater & Flooding Engineer to join our national water team in Christchurch or Wellington. You will contribute to planning, analysis and design across infrastructure and advisory projects within multi-disciplinary teams.

As a developing professional with 4+ years in hydrology or flood modelling, you will work with industry-standard tools and NZ regulatory frameworks, growing your technical capability while delivering high-quality reports and client outcomes.

Qualifications

>4+ years in hydrology, stormwater or flood modelling
Experience with hydrology/hydraulic tools like HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS/InfoWorks/Tuflow
Knowledge of NZ standards and regulatory frameworks for stormwater and flood management
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail

Responsibilities

Support delivery of infrastructure and advisory projects across planning, investigation, modelling and design phases
Undertake hydrological and hydraulic analysis including catchment modelling and flood assessment
Contribute to stormwater design, flood risk assessments and integrated water management
Develop client relationships to ensure project outcomes and satisfaction
Prepare high-quality reports and deliverables
Collaborate with virtual teams across GHD offices
Mentor and guide graduates on projects
