Job summary

Stantec’s Water team in New Zealand is seeking a Contracts Manager to coordinate delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects in Hastings. The role focuses on management of scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk, with site inspections and procurement support.

You will prepare documentation, review tenders, and monitor financial performance while maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and authorities.

Qualifications

• 5 years' relevant professional experience including NZS39XX contracts.
• Solid cost estimating, tender preparation and report writing skills.
• Clear and consistent communication to build trust with peers and clients.
• Coordination/management of sub-contractors, site supervisors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater projects, including management of scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Undertake site inspections, field investigations, feasibility assessments and constructability reviews to support project delivery.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including cost estimates, tender documentation, contract administration records and project reports.
• Assist with tender evaluations and provide support during procurement and construction phases.
• Monitor project financial performance, including tracking, forecasting and reporting of construction activities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, project stakeholders and internal teams.
• Identify and help resolve technical and project delivery issues, working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Ensure project meetings, actions, records and documentation are maintained in accordance with project and client requirements.
• Deliver work in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements, while proactively managing project risks.
• Undertake other duties as reasonably required.
