Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Project Manager to oversee critical network infrastructure programs in the Queenstown region. You will drive end-to-end project delivery, from initiation through closure, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes in a complex telecoms environment.

The role demands a strategic thinker with a track record of delivering high-impact telecom projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and maintaining robust communication with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years focused on telecommunications projects.
• Experience managing large-scale network infrastructure projects (fiber rollout, 4G/5G deployment, core network upgrades).
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMP, Agile, PRINCE2); PMP certification desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Jira, Asana).
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
• Experience in telecoms industry is essential.
• Knowledge of the Eastern Cape infrastructure landscape is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of telecom projects including network deployments and service rollouts.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria with senior management.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Manage risks, issues, and changes with mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Monitor progress, track KPIs, and report to stakeholders.
• Ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and policy adherence.
• Facilitate communication among stakeholders.
• Manage budgets and financial targets.
• Conduct post-project evaluations and capture lessons learned.
