Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Telecoms Fibre Network Planner to join our client in Queenstown on a hybrid arrangement. You will design fibre networks, perform feasibility studies, create splice plans, and contribute to deployment strategies that shape high-speed broadband for new and existing customers.

The role requires a civil or electrical engineering degree, at least six years in telecoms network planning with fibre optics, and proficiency in AutoCAD or QGIS.

• Min. 6 years of telecoms network planning experience with fibre optics.
• Proficiency with design software and GIS tools (AutoCAD, QGIS).

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Senior Telecoms Fibre Network Planner to join their team in Queenstown . This hybrid role is critical for the strategic design and expansion of their fibre optic network infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing detailed network plans, assessing feasibility, and ensuring the efficient deployment of new fibre routes. Your expertise will guide investment decisions and support the delivery of high-speed broadband services to new and existing customers. This position offers a blend of office-based planning and the opportunity to engage with field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed fibre optic network designs , including route selection, capacity planning, and equipment specification.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site surveys to identify optimal network deployment strategies.
• Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including maps, splice plans, and as-built drawings.
• Collaborate with civil works teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Analyze network performance and capacity data to inform future network expansion plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in telecoms network planning , specifically with fibre optics.
• Proficiency with network design software and GIS tools (e.g., AutoCAD, QGIS).
• Strong understanding of fibre optic technologies, splicing techniques, and network deployment best practices.
