ASB Bank in Auckland is seeking a Senior Technology Risk Manager to strengthen controls governance across Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data, delivering governance, assurance, reporting, and uplift activities with practical, credible guidance for senior stakeholders.

You will partner with Technology teams, Line 1 Risk, Internal Audit, and risk specialists to drive improvements, automate where possible, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technology risk, controls, audit, assurance, or related environment.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, controls lifecycle, and assessment methodologies.
• Strong judgement, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Delivering controls governance, assurance, and uplift activities across Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data risk domains.
• Supporting evolution and adoption of ASB's risk management approach and controls framework.
• Planning, coordinating, and delivering Controls Assessment Programme activities.
• Providing trusted risk, controls, assurance, and compliance advice while challenging stakeholders to drive outcomes.
• Maintaining and enhancing the Technology Controls Library and control lifecycle management.
• Monitoring and reporting on control effectiveness, assurance outcomes, risks, issues, and remediation.
• Partnering with Technology teams, Line 1 Risk, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders to support governance, audit, and regulatory outcomes.
• Driving opportunities to simplify, automate, uplift, and continuously improve controls management.

We're looking for a Senior Technology Risk Manager to join our Technology Controls Office, where you'll play a critical role in strengthening controls governance, assurance, and risk management practices across Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data. This role supports both the Technology, Data & AI (TDA) Division and Modernisation Division, providing a unique opportunity to influence risk outcomes at an enterprise level while partnering with senior leaders, delivery teams, auditors, and risk specialist

As a Senior Technology Risk Manager, you'll help maintain a strong and sustainable controls environment across ASB's technology landscape by delivering governance, assurance, reporting, and control uplift activities. You'll provide specialist advice, constructive challenge, and practical solutions that strengthen accountability and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Delivering controls governance, assurance, and uplift activities across Technology, Cybersecurity, and Data risk domains.
• Supporting the ongoing evolution and adoption of ASB's risk management approach and controls framework.
• Planning, coordinating, and delivering Controls Assessment Programme activities.
• Providing trusted risk, controls, assurance, and compliance advice while constructively challenging stakeholders to drive better outcomes.
• Maintaining and enhancing the Technology Controls Library and supporting effective control lifecycle management.
• Monitoring and reporting on control effectiveness, assurance outcomes, risks, issues, and remediation initiatives.
• Partnering with Technology teams, Line 1 Risk, Internal Audit, and other key stakeholders to support governance, audit, and regulatory outcomes.
• Driving opportunities to simplify, automate, uplift, and continuously improve controls management practices.
• Promoting a strong culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Technology.

You’ll Ideally Have

• Strong knowledge of technology risk, controls, compliance, and assurance practices.
• 8+ years of experience in technology risk, controls, audit, assurance, or a related environment.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, controls lifecycle management, and controls assessment methodologies.
• Strong judgement, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving capabilities.
• The confidence to provide credible advice, oversight, and constructive challenge.

• Strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex information for different audiences.
