Job summary

ASB Bank seeks a Senior Manager – Complex Matters Execution to mobilise, investigate and deliver complex matters across the bank. You will work at the intersection of risk, regulatory, legal, product and change delivery to shape how complex matters are navigated with confidence and pace.

You will provide subject matter expertise, oversee protocols and templates, and coordinate validation for regulators while guiding senior leaders across divisions towards aligned outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in compliance, risk, regulatory, legal or investigations within financial services.
• Proven experience delivering complex change or regulatory programmes, with strong planning and organisational capability and the ability to drive progress across divisions and engage senior leaders when required.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and consumer banking law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex matters in a simple way.
• The ability to prioritise and context-switch in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with ASB Legal and collaborate across Product, Risk & Compliance, Delivery Practice, Remediation, and other divisions to ensure alignment and clarity of approach.
• Provide subject matter expertise in complex matters, building awareness and strengthening organisational capability.
• Oversee and maintain Complex Matter protocols, SOPs and templates, ensuring adherence to standards and minimum requirements.
• Track and oversee a portfolio of active and emerging complex matters—highlighting progress, risks, blockers and insights.
• Coordinate validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of information provided to regulators.
• Lead project and execution support to ensure successful outcomes.
• Prepare high‑quality reporting, insights and lessons learned for senior management and the Board.
• Champion a consistent, trusted, and respected Complex Matter operating model across ASB.

We’re looking for someone who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex matters with clarity and confidence. You will have:
