Young and Amazing Limited in Onehunga seeks a senior teacher specialising in toddlers. You will be passionate about early years and understand the importance of rituals and routines in daily practice.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement play-based and structured learning experiences across indoor, outdoor and excursions.
  • Provide age-appropriate provocations and experiences that support children’s physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive development, confidence and independence.
  • Support language and communication through storytelling, role play, songs, group activities and conversations.
  • Observe, assess and document children’s learning, behaviour and development, identifying areas where additional support may be required.
  • Monitor children’s health, wellbeing, nutrition and safety, including signs of illness or developmental and emotional concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment that responds to individual needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and whānau about children’s learning, development, wellbeing and support needs.
  • Participate in parent-teacher interviews, staff and planning meetings, professional development and centre events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals to support positive outcomes for children.
  • Support student teachers during practical placements and participate in relevant community programmes.
  • Follow centre policies and procedures and all applicable ECE, health, safety and child-protection requirements.

We are looking for a senior teacher specialising in working with toddlers, you will be passionate about children of this age group and have a solid understanding of how important rituals and routines are in daily practice with the children. we are a beautiful centre in the heart of Onehunga, we value quality teaching and learning, we offer lower ratios to achieve quality care and education.
