Job summary

Archway Recruitment in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to own, operate and optimise TechnologyOne Finance and related financial systems across the organisation. You will partner with finance, technology, and operations to drive improvements, governance and robust controls.

Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will translate business needs into practical system solutions, lead system enhancements, and deliver training and governance documentation to maintain data

Qualifications

• Formal accounting/finance education or professional qualification.
• Extensive experience with enterprise financial management systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as finance systems SME for TechnologyOne and related applications.
• Manage system configuration, workflows, master data, controls and reporting structures.
• Lead finance systems and process improvement initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical solutions.
• Investigate and resolve complex systems, data, reporting and process issues.
• Deliver training, guidance and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
• Maintain governance, controls, documentation and data integrity.
• Support audit requirements and compliance.

Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will be the organisation's subject matter expert for TechnologyOne Finance and related financial systems. You will lead the ongoing optimisation of systems, drive process improvements, enhance reporting capabilities, and ensure strong governance and controls are maintained across the finance function.

This role sits across finance, technology, and business improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with stakeholder engagement and strategic problem-solving.

About The Role

As the Senior Systems Accountant, you will take ownership of the effective operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the organisation's financial systems. You will work closely with finance, technology, and operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and maximise the value delivered through TechnologyOne.

• Acting as the finance systems subject matter expert for TechnologyOne and related applications

About You

You will be an experienced finance systems professional who combines strong accounting knowledge with a passion for technology and continuous improvement.

To Be Successful, You Will Bring

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Commerce, or a related discipline
• CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification, or a desire to work within a highly professional finance environment
• Extensive experience working with enterprise financial management systems
• Strong TechnologyOne Finance experience
• Demonstrated experience leading systems enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, internal controls, and data integrity
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business
