Job summary

The Glass Goose Bar & Eatery, operated by Cook Brothers Bars, seeks a permanent full-time cook to lead a high-end kitchen and maintain top quality. You will manage stock, costs, and workflow, coordinating with front-of-house and head office. Visa applicants should anticipate 30–60 hours per week.

Ideal candidates have NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or at least three years of relevant experience, plus proven leadership and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ANZSCO Skill Level 2 NZ Register Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of relevant kitchen experience.
• Experience in fast-paced high-end kitchen environments.
• Strong communication with front-of-house and team.

Responsibilities

• Completing ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costs
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
• Understanding the food control plan and cleaning standards
• Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled prior to service
• Ensuring clear communication between the kitchen, front of house and head office
• Average of 30–60 hours per week for visa applicants
