Job summary

The Glass Goose Bar & Eatery in Auckland is seeking a permanent, full-time kitchen leader to set the example with exemplary cooking and the highest standards. You will manage ordering and stock, monitor dish quality, and ensure prep is completed before service, while maintaining strong communication between kitchen, front of house and head office.

Qualifications

• Energetic, flexible and hardworking
• Passion for food and providing experiences
• Strong leadership and culinary skills
• NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) and/or 3+ years relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Complete ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costs
• Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures
• Prepare and cook food to consistently high standard
• Understand the food control plan and cleaning standards in the kitchen
• Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled before service
• Maintain clear communication between kitchen, front of house and head office
• Average 30–60 hours per week for visa applicants
