Job summary

Vista Group International is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer - Team Lead in Auckland to lead a squad of full-stack engineers. You’ll drive collaboration, design, and architecture while delivering high-performance, data-intensive Movio-like software solutions.

Responsibilities include mentoring the team, guiding technical interviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on testability and CI/CD. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a Team Lead or similar role.
• Strong mentorship abilities and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Senior level back-end software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and lead the team, guiding engineers to self-organisation and ownership.
• Foster continuous improvement, sharing ideas and technologies with the team.
• Support learning and growth, lead by example.
• Encourage healthy collaboration and code reviews with processes like design discussions.
• Deliver high-quality, innovative software architecture and code as Lead Engineer.
• Assist with technical interviews, onboarding and mentoring of new members.
• Provide coaching and cross-squad communication, propose training.
• Be the communication point to stakeholders when timelines risk.
• Report progress to Engineering Manager and help refine strategic objectives.
