Job summary

Vista is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Team Lead in Auckland, NZ to lead a squad of full‑stack engineers, drive best practices, and shape the technical roadmap. You will design, develop and implement high‑quality software while maintaining performance and data processing efficiency.

You will mentor engineers, promote code quality, and collaborate with the Engineering Manager on interviews, onboarding, and cross‑squad communication. Strong leadership and backend expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a Team Lead or similar role.
• Strong mentorship skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Senior level backend software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and lead the team, guiding engineers to self-organisation and ownership.
• Foster continuous improvement and sharing of ideas, technologies and practices.
• Support team learning, mentor members, and participate in interviews and onboarding.
• Coordinate with Engineering Manager on collaboration, code reviews and design discussions.
• Deliver high-quality software architecture and solutions, in both autonomous and peer-led development.
• Provide progress updates and help refine strategic objectives.
